Zaouiat Sidi Mehrez (Mausoleum)

The Zaouia houses the tomb of Mahrez Ibn Khalaf (deceased in 1022), a pious person considered the patron saint of the Medina and even of the entire city. He is buried where he gave his theological teaching. Located in the Bab Souika district, the Zaouia, with its two domes and its ceramics, is an example of the influence of Ottoman architecture in Tunis.
